The Education Department received daily attendance of 2159 schools about reopening of classes for the standard fifth to eighth.

It may be noted that the classes for the standards commenced on January 27 after the spread of Novel coronavirus. The Department asked the 2168 schools in the district to submit the report of students attendance daily. Of them, 2159 submitted the attendance report.

A total of nine schools which have not submitted the report are not reopened yet. The Education Department officers will visit the schools, which are low attendance. The attendance is increasing in schools in rural areas. But, the attendance ratio has not crossed the mark of 50 pc.

The schools have a fear of drop out of students.

The Department is making all efforts to maintain the interest of students in the school. There are 7,806 teachers in the school while 7,275 underwent to COVID test. Of them, six were found positive to COVID.

A total of 6,916 teachers have submitted their test report so far in the school. One school from Gangapur, four from Kannad and four from Khuldabad have not submitted the report.

The schools have over 2.20 lakh strength of students while their attendance is nearly 1.18 lakh.

Headmistress of Zilla Parishad School (Ambelohal) Neeta Vyahalkar said they had submitted the links about students' strength and teachers report.

Anil Deshmukh, the headmaster from Ganori ZP School, said that students' attendance is between 20 to 30 per cent and it is a challenge before the schools to attract students towards the school.

ZP Education officer (primary) Surajprasad Jaiswal said they seek information from the schools of standard 5th to 8th regularly by sending online link.

“The school have acted in compliance with the norms. The Navodyaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya which have affiliated with of State Board, do not report us. Some residential schools are still closed. A total of nine schools have not submitted their report yet,” he said.

The number of tehsil-wise schools which submitted the report to education department so far is as follows; Gangapur (265), Kannad (297), Sillod (269), Khuldabad (135), Soyegaon (88), Paithan (273) and Phulambri (238), Aurangabad (288) and Vaijapur (306).
