Ex-principal Dr Sontakke passes away
Aurangabad, April 3:
Former principal of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology (SGGSIE&T - Nanded), Dr Tryambak Sontakke, has died of brief illness in Nanded, on Friday morning. He was 80.
The last rites upon him were performed at his native village Mandakhali (in Parbhani). He was the first registrar of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMU). He also played a vital role in getting autonomy to the SGGSIE&T. Besides, he was also considered as a pioneer for introducing online engineering admissions in Maharashtra.
He is survived by one son and two daughters. He was the uncle of the Divisional Forest Officer Ramesh M Sontakke.
