Foreign delegation visits Govt Cancer Hospital

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A delegation of Europe-based Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMCH) team visited the Government Cancer Hospital (GCH) on Tuesday.

During this, the foreign delegation expressed satisfaction with the facilities at the GCH (State Cancer Institute).

RMHC Field Operator (Europe) Donell Bullock, Associate Director (Asia) Rachel Nadia and Manager (India) Sulakshana Mukherjee visited the GCH today.

Earlier, RMHC helped to develop a family room for child cancer patients and their families at the GCH. He inspected the facilities in the hospital, including the family room. Dean Dr Shivaji Sukre, Officer on Special Duty of the hospital Dr Arvind Gaikwad, Head of the Paediatric Oncology Department Dr Aditi Lingayat interacted with him.

A day ago, the delegation met the Academic Dean of Tata Memorial Hospital Dr Kailash Sharma in Mumbai and discussed the GCH.

Accommodation facilities

During this meeting, the RMHC officers had a preliminary discussion about constructing a building for paediatric patients and their parents to live together at the GCH in the future.

Beautification of Dept

The RMHC constructed a family room for paediatric cancer patients and their families in the GCH, earlier.

Now, they will beautify the Paediatric Cancer Department. Along with this, preliminary discussions and site inspection were held with a view to constructing a separate building for relatives to stay.
