Gas crematorium at Pratapnagar and N-6 cemetery

Aurangabad, May 5:

Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator Astik Kumar Pandey has decided to set up a gas crematorium at Pratapnagar and N-6 cemetery near Jakat Naka. Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI) has taken the initiative to set up a gas crematorium at Pratapnagar cemetery. The association has indicated its readiness to spend 50 per cent of the total cost.

AMC had issued a tender of Rs 78 lakh for erection of gas crematorium in Kailasnagar cemetery. However, the tender was canceled due to the initiative of Aurangabad First. Therefore, the funds will be used to erect a gas crematorium at the N-6 cemetery. City engineer Panjhade said that the construction of sheds and purchase and maintenance of machinery will also be done by AMC. Aurangabad First has started the work of erecting gas crematorium in Kailasnagar cemetery. It is likely to take a month and a half to complete.
