Aurangabad, May 20:

The State Government has sanctioned 16 more new colleges within the jurisdiction of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu).

It may be noted that the university 258 proposals for new colleges starting in the academic year 2021-22. Bamu conducted scrutiny of the proposals and made recommendations for 12 colleges following Dr Narendra Jadhav Committee parameters to main the quality of education.

The Government granted permission to 49 new colleges through its orders dated April 15 in the first phase, ignoring the university’s remarks on 246 remaining proposals. In the second phase, 16 more colleges were given permissions on May 17.

Name of some the place where new colleges would be open is as follows;Gevrai Brook-Bond, (Talegaon, Phulambri), Chinchwan (Sillod), Wadgao (Soyegaon), Satara Parishar, Mitmita and Bidkin (Aurangabad district). The letter of intent was issued to the new colleges, and its validity is January 31, 2022.
