An alert grandmother foiled the kidnap attempt of her five years old granddaughter at Wadgaon in the Waluj area on Thursday midnight. A 5 years old girl was sleeping with her grandparents when a kidnapper kidnapped her at night. When her grandmother realized it she shouted for help, and the kidnapper left the girl and fled away from the scene.
Around 15 families selling iron equipment live in temporary hut shelters in the Wadgaon area. The members sustain their families by selling the equipment in the afternoon. On Thursday night, every one after dinner went to sleep. The five years old girl was sleeping with her grandparents. An unidentified person entered the hut and took away the girl. As the girl started crying, her grandmother saw an unknown man taking her granddaughter, hence she started shouting for her. The nearby people from the huts came out, and she said that a man is taking her granddaughter. The youths began chasing the man who was going towards the Bajajnagar area. When he realized he was being chased, he left the girl in an open space and fled away, taking advantage of the dark. The youths brought the girl back and informed the police. Meanwhile, PSI, Satish Pandit, and others rushed to the spot and tried to trace the kidnapper.
