“Great leaders inspire a new generation and give direction to society. A big memorial of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, who laid the foundation of social justice and education for ‘Bahjuans’ should come up at least in his death centenary,” said Indrajit Sawant, noted history-researcher and writer.
He was speaking in an online lecture organised by Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Study Centre of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) on Thursday on the death anniversary of Shahu Maharaj. Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole, Pro-VC Shyam Shirsath, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi, management council members- Dr Rajesh Karpe, Dr Fulchand Salampure, Dr Vilas Khandare, Pratibha Ahire and others were present.
Sawant said that Maharaj Sayajirao Gaekwad and Shahu Maharaj had important role for education of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar who had determined for the development of Bahujans.
