Aurangabad, April 20:

A half-burnt body of a 22-year-youth was found at Kumbephal Phata on Tuesday morning.

Karmad Police and Local Crime Branch (LCB) team reached the spot and identified the body.

The deceased was identified as Shaikh Amir Shaikh Nazir (Behind Dargah Masjid, Naregaon) had a criminal background. The LCB detained some suspects.

Police inspector Bhagwan Phunde said the preliminary report indicates that Shaikh Amir's throat was slit with a sharp weapon and his body was burnt to destroy the evidence.

The dead body was found 120 feet away from Kumbephal Patil of Jalna Road.

Police inspector of Karmad Police Station Santosh Khetmalal , PSI Prasant Patil, along with other personnel, reached the spot.

The LCB team comprising PI Bhagwan Phunde, PSI Sandeep Salunke too arrived at the spot.

During the probe, it was found that the cases of selling liquor illegally and marijuana were registered against the deceased Shaikh Amir.

PI Phunde said that some suspects were detailed and being interrogated.

A case was registered with Karmad Police Station against an unknown person.
