Hotels, permit rooms granted permission after 175 days
The district administrations had closed all the hotels, restaurants and permit rooms in the city and the surrounding areas to restrict the spread of Corona. Now, permission has been granted to the hotel owners to start operations as usual from October 5, almost after a gap of around 175 days. However, they will have to follow the guidelines issued by the government.
Hotel and restaurant industry was severely hit due for the past six months. Some sustained due to the parcel facilities given to the customers. Two months back, the hotels and permit rooms were granted permission to provide food and liquor parcels to the customers. The staff of the hotels, restaurants and permit rooms became unemployed due to the Corona crisis. Many went to their native villages. Now, the administration has granted permission to start hotels for customers from October 5 following the guidelines.
District Collector, Sunil Chavan said, it is mandatory for the owners to get the RTPCR tests of each employee and also follow the other guidelines issued by the government.
There are 13 wine shops in the city, more than 60 beer shops, 125 country liquor shops and more than 450 hotels, restaurants and permit rooms in the city.
