Increasing Corona patients, matter of grave concern: Ajit Pawar, Tope
Aurangabad, Feb 15:
In all, 20,211 Corona patients have been found by the end of
second week of February in the state, which is a matter of grave concern. A
discussion will be held with the chief minister Uddhav Thackarey about this
drastic situation at Mumbai on Tuesday. Some severe decisions may be taken in
the state and the residents should be prepared for it, indicated deputy chief
minister Ajit Pawar and health minister Rajesh Tope here on Monday.
A divisional finance and planning review meeting was held in
the city on Monday, for which Pawar was in the city. After the meeting,
speaking to the reporters, he said, the increasing number of patients is a
matter of concern and the public functions should be stopped, he mentioned.
People are not using masks. The number of patients are
increasing and by February 14, Nashik had 1463, Aurangabad 427, Amravati 2420,
Nagpur 2628, Wardha 466 patients, which need to be considered seriously. Many
of us are not serious about the Corona. Some are mentioning that which there
are restrictions to celebrate Shiv Jayanti on February 19, but measures have to
be taken so that Corona should not be spread. Hence, several programmes were
cancelled last year. Hence, many politicians are trying to encash the emotions
of the people.
Tope said, the Corona patients are increasing in Mumbai,
nine district in Vidharbha and Nanded in Marathwada region. Screening should be
increasing. Triple ‘T’ (Tracking, Tracing and Testing) system should be
implemented rigorously. Similarly, strict action will be taken if any negligence
is done in it. The political programmes, wedding ceremonies are crowded and
hence people should follow the guidelines with strict discipline. If such
situation continues, the people will have to confront lockdown again. Efforts
are being taken so that this situation should not arise again. We are alert but
lockdown will be the last restore, he said.
Industry minister Subhash Desai, EGS minister Sandipan
bhumre, MLC Satish Chavan, MLC Ambadas Danve, MLC Vikram Kale, divisional
commissioner Sunil Kendrekar, district collector Sunil Chavan and others were
present.
Speaking about the crowd in the political functions, Pawar
said, this should be stopped and the chief of the parties should take some
decisions about it. People will not accept if the anniversaries of the national
leaders would be banned and there are no rules for the political leaders. The
Mahavikas Aaghadi Government will take a decision after discussion with all
political parties, he said.
