Aurangabad, Feb 18:

Divisional commissioner Sunil Kendrekar today called a meeting of the corona task force, due to increasing number of patients. Expressing concern over the rise in patients, Kendrekar said that special attention should be paid at crowded places, marriage halls, coaching classes, vegetable and weekly markets, malls, bus stands and railway station. Use of masks must be made mandatory and all administrative bodies must take punitive action against offenders.

A meeting of 'Covid-19 Task Force' was held at the hall of the divisional commissionerate. The meeting was chaired by commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta, acting collector Anant Gavhane, Municipal commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey, superintendent of police Mokshada Patil, GMCH dean Dr Kanan Yelikar, Dr Swapnil Lale, Dr Sundar Kulkarni, deputy commissioner Parag Soman, Jagdish Maniyar, Dr Neeta Padalkar, doctors from private hospitals and others were present.

Municipal corporation must take action

Kendrekar said, "Municipal corporation should take action against people not following rules. Must review covid care centers and medications. Checkpoints at bus stands, railway stations should be working, testing should be increased, more emphasis should be laid on contact tracing, covid vaccination campaign should be implemented effectively.

Zilla Parishad responsible for rural areas

The Zilla Parishad should pay serious attention to the rural areas, keep the rural hospitals well equipped and make it mandatory to wear masks.

District administration should make efforts

Sub-divisional officers, tehsildar and police should try to prevent the outbreak of corona in the district. Corona regulations should be made mandatory in the industrial sector. The district administration should hold regular meetings of the task force.

Instructions to state transport

The ST bus should not carry more passengers than required. No one should be allowed in the bus without a mask. A case should be registered against those not following rules. Awareness about corona should be spread in the bus stand. Instructions should be given from time to time through loudspeakers.

Responsibility also on RTO

The divisional commissioner has directed the RTO to take action against those who carry more passengers than the capacity in auto rickshaws.

GMCH and health department

Kendrekar said the beds in GMCH must be ready. Care should be taken to ensure that the medicine is not in short supply. Private hospitals should divide covid and non-covid patients and adequate beds must be made available for covid patients. Many health workers have not been vaccinated, they should be vaccinated immediately and the front-line staff should also be vaccinated.
