Aurangabad, March 28:

The vehicles owners throng at the city petrol pumps to fill the fuel on Saturday and Sunday after the administration announced to impose lockdown in the district. It was announced that the people in the emergency services will be allowed to take the fuel during the lockdown. but the entire planning was hampered due to the rush.

This scribe visited various petrol pumps in the city and on Beed By-pass road. Long queues were seen at almost all the petrol pumps and the people preferred to fill the fuel tanks to the entire capacity. As there was inadequate staff at the petrol pump, the identity cards were not checked and everyone was given the fuel. The rush reduced in the afternoon on Sunday.

Meanwhile, he secretary of the Aurangabad Petrol Pump Owners Association, Akhil Abbas said that a memorandum has been submitted to the district administration considering the rush at the petrol pumps and demanded that permissions should be granted for the petrol pumps in the city for 10 to 12 hours and for 24 hours at the highways. Similarly, the condition of producing the identity cards should be cancelled, as mentioned in the memorandum.
