GST has become oppressive for traders and industry. Hence Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA) will follow up with the central government to provide relaxation, said senior MACCIA senior vice-president Lalit Gandhi, said here today.

Gandhi held a dialogue with traders and entrepreneurs at the CMIA hall on Thursday. On the occasion, Gandhi said that traders have suffered due to GST. Despite you not making profit, it is mandatory to file nil returns (zero return). However, even if there is a delay of one day in filing the nil return, traders are penalized. There are also other issues, we will follow up with the union finance minister and the concerned agencies through Maccia, said Gandhi, adding that Marathwada is currently in the limelight through DMIC. It will create a lot of jobs. Local industries should form clusters in small MIDCs in the tehsils. Maccia will provide all cooperation.
