Aurangabad, April 27

A major tragedy was averted in the District Civil Hospital at Parbhani in Marathwada as 14 Covid-19 patients were shifted to another ward soon after oxygen started leaking from a supplying pipe on Tuesday midnight.

According to details, oxygen is supplied from a plant on the hospital premises to coronavirus patients being treated in the Covid ward. A tree collapsed on the main pipe due to gusty winds at 11.30 pm and oxygen started leaking. The hospital administration swung into action and quickly shifted patients on oxygen support to another ward. The work of fixing the leakage was in progress till late night.

Senior officers reach spot

District collector Deepak Muglikar, his deputy Mahesh Wadadkar, sub-divisional officer Dr Sanjay Kundetkar and civic chief Devidas Pawar rushed to the hospital and obtained the information of the incident. They were all present in the hospital supervising the work of repairing the broken oxygen pipe.
