Aurangabad, Feb 12:
The city police have arrested a snake charmer for smuggling
of Sand Boa snake called Mandul in local language. He had posted the image of
Mandul Snake on Whatsapp and was searching for a customer. When an informer of
the police got information about it, he contacted the snake charmer and made a
deal for Rs 4 lakh for the Mandul Snake. The police on his arrival with the
snake arrested him.
The arrested have been identified as Manohar Narayan Bhavare
(47, Shashtrinagar, Garkheda). Police said Bhavare works as a watchman at
Shashtrinagar. He, with the help of his friend, caught Boa snake in Bidkin
area. Bhavare and his friend were searching for a customer as this snake is
sold dearer. He uploaded the pictures of the snake on the Whatsapp.
Pundliknagar API, Ghansham Sonawane asked an informer to contact Bhavare and
make a deal of the snake. Accordinly, a deal of the snake was made for Rs 4
lakh and he was called with the snake at Vishalnagar. Accordingly, Bhavare
brought the snake and the police nabbed him. A case has been registered at the
Pundliknagar police station while the snake has been handed over to the forest
department, API Sonawane said.
Mandul Snake is said to be used for finding hidden
treasure and for black magic. Hence, it is sold dearer.
