Aurangabad, July 13:

A 56-year-old man, who sustained grave injuries after being hit by an unidentified truck, died while undergoing treatment in a city's private hospital on Monday at 4.30 pm. The deceased Bhaupatil Chimanrao Chine (Omsainagar-Ranjangaon) was hit at NRB Chowk in Waluj industrial estate.

It is learnt that Bhaupatil was riding a moped (MH 20 FV 1784) and was proceeding towards Duttanagar (of Ranjangaon) from Waluj MIDc area, on Monday afternoon. While passing by the Siemens Company at around 2.30 pm, an unidentified vehicle hit his moped. The accident was very severe that he fell on the road and the unidentified vehicle passed through his waist. He sustained grave injuries and fell unconscious. The drivers of vehicles passing by and pedestrians shifted him on the side of the road and then informed his son Vijay Chine about the accident. The son admitted his father in an unconscious state in the city's private hospital, but he succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at 4.30 pm.

The eye-witnesses informed the police and the relatives of Bhaupatil that an Eicher truck hit the moped and its driver sped away from the spot. Waluj MIDC police station has registered an offence against an unidentified vehicle driver. The police appealed to the villagers to contact them if they found Eicher's truck or possess any information regarding it.
