Aurangabad, June 17:

Many potholes have surfaced in Nakshetrawadi on Aurangabad-Paithan road, causing inconvenience to drivers and riders in the rainy season. There has been a demand to make good Aurangabad-Paithan road for the past one decade.

A two-km cement road from Mahanubhav Ashram onwards was developed, but the condition of the road in Nakshetrwadi is very bad. Even tarring of the road was not done. The residents said that had the road was repaired before monsoon, they would not have to face the inconvenience.

There are big potholes on the busy one and half km road of Nakshetrawadi.

The riders and drivers had a tough time while passing through the road. Many vehicles owners are using the wrong side to avoid potholes.

Many innocent persons have lost life in an accident on the road because of potholes. Ambulance drivers also find passing through the road difficult.

City engineer of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Sakharam Panzade said that some part of Paithan road falls within the jurisdiction of AMC.

“Not a single rupee can be spent for repair. The Civic body is receiving complaints of potholes on Nakshetrawadi road. We are pursuing the repair work matter with National Highway Authority,” he added.
