Aurangabad, Oct 15:

The medical education and cultural affairs minister Amit Deshmukh today informed that it is mandatory upon each hospital to provide beds with ventilators and oxygen facilities and as per the norms.

Accordingly, all the hospitals in the district should make adequate arrangement of beds with latest treatment facilities.

He was speaking at the meeting organised to review measures being taken in the district to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic situation at the district collectorate, this morning.

Deshmukh said, " The treatment facilities should be upgraded and empowered to reduce the figures of Covid-19 patients in the state. Accordingly, the focus on providing availability of the adequate number of beds in hospitals is so that the patients could get treatment in time, and could prevent the ratio of deaths.

The district collector Sunil Chavan elaborated upon the measures being taken in the district to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease. The Government Medical College and Hospital

(GMCH) dean Dr Kanan Yelikar urges to pursue the pending proposals regarding the hospital management and treatment facilities. Deshmukh assured of taking up the proposal of filling vacant posts at GMCH.

Deshmukh underlined the need of holding an awareness campaign for Covid-19 patients. who had recovered from the ailment, to guide them on how to lead their lives, hereafter. He also suggested taking every possible care to save the life of patients.

The commissioner of police Nikhil Gupta, Zilla Parishad chief executive officer (CEO) Mangesh Gondawale, superintendent of police (SP) Mokshada Patil, Food and Drugs Administration''s joint commissioner Sanjay Kale, medical officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar and District Health Officer Dr Sudhakar Shelke were also present in the meeting.
