Aurangabad, May 12:

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) senior technician red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,500 from a farmer for electricity connection at Vaijapur on Wednesday.

The senior technician has been identified as Balnath Nivrutti Jore.

According to the details, the complainant farmer has a farm at Satana Shivar in Vaijapur tehsil. He had applied for electricity connection at MSEDCL for operating electric motor in his farm. Jore demanded Rs 7,000 for issuing an electricity connection. As the applicant was not willing to pay the bribe, he lodged a complaint at ACB. The officers investigated about the bribe demand and laid a trap. Accordingly, the complainant called Jore near Sharma Mandap Decorators Shop at Vaijapur to take the bribe money. The officers caught Jore red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 3,500. The action was executed under the guidance of Dy.SP Brahmadev Gawade by PI Reshma Saudagar, constable Bhimraj Jivade, Ravindra Kale, Bhushan Desai and Devsingh Thakur.
