Aurangabad, Oct 27:

The municipal corporation has stopped buying PPE kits due to lack of funds. Hence previously used PPE kits are being reused for the past few days.

When treating Covid-19 patients, doctors and staff have to wear PPE kits. However, over the last few days, the corporation has been experiencing a shortage of PPE kits. Due to non-receipt of funds from the district administration, the process of purchase of these kits has been delayed. In this regard, municipal health officer Dr Nita Padalkar said, there are 1,000 PPE kits, out of which 500 kits can be reused. Work is currently underway with the help of these kits. The corporation has also ordered 5,000 antigen kits. Currently we are using the RT-PCR test kits. Direct RT-PCR testing of the concerned is done. The result of this test comes after 24 hours. It is reported to the concerned person. Four months ago, the municipal corporation had received a fund of Rs 12 crore for corona. Municipal administration then demanded Rs 34 crore from the district administration as soon as the funds ran out. Based on this demand, a large number of materials have been procured on credit. Delays in the arrival of funds are adding to the crisis of the corporation.
