Aurangabad, Dec 14:

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief, Raj Thackeray, made a prediction saying that reviewing the status of three allying parties in Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), I do not feel the government will fall. He was speaking to media persons at a press conference organised at Subhedari Guest House in the city, on Tuesday.

Thackeray conducted a convention of MNS office-bearers at a function hall in Cidco N-7 sector after 22 months.

MNS chief said," The OBC reservation is a hot topic. However, there is sheer confusion amongst the Centre and the State over the census of OBCs. It seems that the intention is to delay the elections. In the meantime, the OBCs announced of boycotting the elections. Nobody is sure about when would the local self-body elections are going to be held or going to be postponed."

Thackeray also mentioned that there would be many issues relating to inadequate supply of basic amenities like water, roads and garbage by the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The people would be pushed to suffer if they forget to raise these issues so as to resolve them during the elections. The casting of votes should be done wisely. The people should learn to vent out their anger through ballot papers. It is need of the hour, he said.

Confidential Move

In a reply to a question about any plans of MNS regarding the alliance, Thackeray said, " I stepped out underlines that there is some meaning. The political developments are confidential and is yet to reach upon conclusion. MVS is an unexpectedly formed government. If the MVA contest the election unitedly then we will think over our policy. We will let you know during the elections."

Appointment of professional company

Referring to the MSRTC employees strike, Thackeray said," A professional management company should be appointed for tackling the MSRTC issue. If the salaries of government servants are given to MSRTC employees then the other corporations would also start agitations. The issue should not be stretched from both sides, he opined.

Comment on MIM; speak on renaming issue in gathering

AIMIM's MP has announced that his party will not contest the election if the reservation is granted to Muslims, When his attention was drawn towards it, Thackeray replied, " It will be okay if they do not contest the election. Nobody in Mumbai was aware of their Tiranga rally. It was done to distract the attention of people from core issues. Reservation in education and jobs was important, but both educational societies and industries are private. The present demand for reservation is just for the sake of votes. There is no meaning to it beyond this. I would not speak on renaming of Aurangabad, but will speak on it in the public gathering, he said.

He expressed his doubts on whether the local self-body election would be held in time. Besides, he also mentioned of cancellation of the OBC reservation, non-submission of empirical data, delay in granting funds of Rs 435 crore by the state government etc.
