Aurangabad, April 4:

The Covid-19 pandemic is on the rise and the

mortality rate has also increased. In the past eight days, natural deaths along

with the Covid-19 deaths have increased. Around 100 deaths are reported daily

and the relatives of the deceased have to wait in queues at the Crematorium and

graveyards for performing the last rites.

As the Corona pandemic is being given more

attention, the diseases like Maleria and Dengue are being ignored. Not a single

patient suffering from these contagious diseases are seen now.

Although the recovery rate of the Corona patients is

more than 1000 daily but the mortality rate has also increased. Every day,

around 25 deaths are reported. Even the deceased patients from the rural areas

are cremated or buried in the city. Moreover, the patients from other districts

are also admitted in the city and the last rites are performed on them in the

city. The people have to wait in queues at the registration of deaths office at

the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

In all, 98 last rites were performed on April 2

including 42 Covid deaths and 56 natural deaths, 75 including 49 Covid and 26

natural on April 3 and 60 including 33 Covid and 27 natural till 4 pm on April

4.
