Aurangabad, Feb 23:

A nature club was set up in Deogiri Institute of Engineering and Management Studies (DIEMS) on Monday to create awareness about nature among students.

Under the club, different projects like ‘shramdan’ lecture and field trips. DIEMS director Dr Ulhas Shivurkar welcomed and felicitated newly admitted 600 students the first year and director the second year by presenting one sapling to each one.

General secretary of MSP Mandal MLC Satish Chavan lauded the initiative. Dr Shivurkar urged the students to preserve the trees. Each student will have to send the photograph of the tree to his/her mentor every month to ensure its proper care.

Department heads Dr Satyavan Dhondge, Sanjay Kalyankar, Prakash Taur, Dr Gajendra Gandhe, Dr Rajesh Auti and others were present.
