Aurangabad, Oct 12:

The district collector Sunil Chavan today has made it clear that the election administration will not allow the electors if spotted without face masks on the voting day of Marathwada Graduate Constituency Election.

Chavan was addressing the meeting organised with the representatives of political parties at the district collectorate hall in connection with the publication of the rough draft of electoral list and discussed precautionary measures to be taken during the election period to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The draft electoral list is published, and the administration invites the objections upon it. Hence the district collector told the political parties to create awareness amongst the voters about wearing the face masks. The additional collector Dr Anant Gavhane and representatives of various political parties were also present in the meeting.

Chavan mentioned separate queues for male, female and physically disabled voters at each polling station. A total of 1,000 voters will be casting their vote at each polling station. The administration will mark circles so that the voters standing in the queue could move ahead by maintaining distance from each other and wearing a mask. The collector also mentioned that postal ballot facilities are there for the senior citizens of 80 years and above age, Covid-19 patients etc.

The district collectorate also conducted a training programme for the area officers from the district today. The additional collector Anant Gavhane guided them upon their role before the election, on the day of voting and after the election and also on preparing the report. The discussion on polling stations, awareness amongst the voters, route fixation, law and order situation, obtaining election aids and checking them etc. was also held on the occasion.
