Aurangabad, Feb
13:
Due to the Beed
By-pass road's increasing accidents, the vehicles' speed limit has been fixed
at 30 kilometers per hour (KMPH). The traffic police have highlighted boards
indicating this speed limit at various places on the Beed By-pass road. If
anyone breaches the speed limit norms, he will have to face stringent police
action. Several accidents have occurred on the By-pass in the past two months.
Commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta visited and inspected the Beed By-pass.
He informed that discussions with the PWD, Maharashtra State Electricity
Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) and Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC)
officers will be held to find the measures to avert accidents. He also
indicated to fix the speed limit of the vehicles. A notification about it has
been released now, and the speed limit has been fixed to 30 KMPH, informed ACP
Suresh Wankhede.
He said,
initially boards indicating speed limit have been erected at various places on
Beed By-pass road. Strict action will be taken against those breaching the
speed limit. A meeting of the traffic police officers and PWD officers was held
on Friday. In this meeting, ACP Suresh Wankhede, PI Mukund Deshmukh and
officers of the PWD were present and a decision was taken to complete the work
of the service road at Beed By-pass road and joining the broken dividers.
Similarly, a letter has been written to MSEDCL to remove the electricity polls
obstructing the traffic, at the earliest, Wankhede said.
