Aurangabad, Jan 31:

More than 2.92 lakh children were administered polio doses in the district on Sunday. There was a target to administer the dose to over 3.25 lakh children.

District health officer Dr Sudhakar Shelke said that 90 per cent of children were administered polio doses. A polio dose drive was implemented today to eradicate polio.

Children were administered doses to children up to five years age at health centres, Government Medical College and Hospital, private hospitals and bus stands today.

Social distance was maintained in the campaign given Novel coronavirus.

Also, the doses will be administered to children at home under the door-to-door campaign.

Zilla Parishad president Meena Shelke inaugurated the district level campaign at the primary health centre of Ladsaungi.

Chief executive officer of ZP Mangesh Gondavale, district health officer Dr Sudhakar Shelke, Panchayat Samiti chairman Chhaya Ghagre, Renuka Shinde, Raju Shelke, Sudam Pawar, Ganesh Pawar, Dr Prashat Date and others were present.

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation implemented the drive in the city while ZP in rural areas.
