Aurangabad, March 31:

Over 3,000 schools are likely to be closed permanently in the city and rural areas of the State in the coming days.

It may be noted that the Education Department issued a Government Resolution dated March 24, 2021, to provide transport allowance and facilities to 16,334 students from 3,000 villages to attend school in a nearby village or town. Currently, the students are studying in the schools of their village.

The GR indicates that schools from the selected 3,000 villages will be closed in the coming days and students will be shifted to other village schools. The GR has created displeasure among teachers.

Meanwhile, Akhil Bhartiya Urdu Shikshak Sangh in a memorandum submitted to School Education Minister, stating that the Government should withdraw the GR and stop any step being taken to shut down the schools.
