Aurangabad, July 2:

An oxygen plant with the capacity of filling 24 jumbo cylinders in 24 hours has been established at the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) Meltron Hospital. The testing of the plant will be held soon, informed the sources.

Huge oxygen scarcity was faced during the second Corona wave. The administration has undertaken the task of establishing the oxygen plants at the government and private hospitals so that the shortage is not faced during the third possible wave.

State environment minister Aditya Thackeray had directed the Deepak Fertilizer Company to establish an oxygen plant at Meltron through CSR funds. The company immediately sent the plant equipment, including tank, two compressors and others to establish the plant. Now, the plant will be tested soon. The 350 patients at the Meltron Hospital will get the oxygen after the execution of the plant. After conducting the test, an oxygen pipeline will be laid for 200 beds. Presently, there are very less patients at Meltron. Meanwhile, the district administration has also sanctioned one more additional oxygen plant for Meltron. Airox Technologies Pvt Ltd will establish this plant. It will have the capacity to fill 175 jumbo cylinders daily. The plant will be established with an expenditure of Rs 2.79 crores.
