Aurangabad, April 8:

The serious Corona patients need oxygen in large quantity. Hence, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will establish an oxygen plant at the Meltron Hospital at Chikalthana area. The foundation stone of the plant was laid here today and the plant will be established in 15 days.

After the establishment of the plant, oxygen can be provided on 250 beds here. Presently, 120 beds have the oxygen facility.

The Meltron Hospital was established at Chikalthana MIDC area in last September – October for the treatment of the Corona patients. Industry minister, Subhash Desai had announced an oxygen plant at the Meltron Hospital with the expense of Rs 4.50 crores. AMC gave a proposal to the district administration. The proposal was sanctioned and the work order was given to the contractor. The contractor has started the work and the plant will be established in 15 years. The oxygen from the hospital will be used in the hospital and will also be supplied to four other Covid Care Centres.
