Aurangabad, June 17:

Teachers of Bhagwan Paramedical Junior College who had decided to stage indefinite fast unto death on June 15, postponed after MLC Vikram Kale on Wednesday assured them of taking their salary issue with the minister concerned.

The teachers were declared as surplus since December 2018 and their salary was withheld. They have been working as permanent teachers in the college for the past 25 years.

They were facing a financial crisis for the past two and half years as their salary was not released.

They had submitted a memorandum time and again with the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training Directorate. But, nothing was done. So, the teachers- Shaikh Tasleem Ahmed, Siddiqui Atik Ahmed and Khan Mustafa decided to stage indefinite fast unto death agitation.
