Aurangabad, June 26:

The parents found schools closed when they went for admissions to their children under the Right to Education (RTI) Act quota.

It may be noted that 25 per cent of seats are reserved under the RTI quota.

The Education Department asked the parents of selected students to confirm the admissions in the school. The process of admission confirmation started recently.

Parents of six students selected English Primary School at Suryadeepnagar in Satara Parisar for the admissions.

On receiving a message from the education department, the parents went to the school to confirm the admissions. But, they found the school closed.

When the parents enquired with residents of the area, they learnt that teachers were called to another school run by the education society.

Parents like Shaikh Aslam Hussain, Khan Irfan Khan Babar, More Gorakh Sahebrao asked about the confirmation of the admissions, they were informed that the school was closed down due to financial losses.

The parents reached the education officer's office and sought admissions to their children in the nearby schools. They also demanded that the school should be reopened or administrations should take action against it.

Meanwhile, a total of 11,811 applications were found valid for the 3,625 seats in 603 schools of the district for the academic year 2020-21. A total of 3,470 children were selected through the draw. A total of 747 parents took provisional admissions, while 99 confirmed the admissions. RTE Parents Association Prashant Sathe said that the education department should expedite the admission process.
