Aurangabad, Feb 23:

The customers complained of facing inconvenience after the postal services in Bajajnagar got disrupted due to the burning of an electrical switch for the past three days.

It is learnt that the post office is at Maharana Pratap Chowk (in Bajajnagar). The customers visit the post office for registration of Aadhar Card, send letters through Speed Posts, pay instalments of various policies of postal department etc. Three days ago, the power supply of the office got disrupted. As a result, the computer system got defunct, and automatically the registration of the Aadhar Card got stopped. The officials are also unable to book letters under Speed Posts.

It may be noted that the jurisdiction of the post office comprises the industrial sector. Hence the Speed Post service is utilised to dispatch important letters or bills to the concerned persons and others. The customers complained of facing inconvenience due to the absence of power supply. The postal employees are also not giving satisfactory replies and also not informing about when would the power supply get restored, alleged Kiran Dudhiwar, Narendra Singh Yadav, Samir Shaikh, Samadhan Bade and others.

When contacted assistant postmaster, Sunil Kakkad said, " Our daily office work had been disrupted due to burning of an electrical switch. The services would restore soon as the repair work is underway."
