Aurangabad, May 15:

“There is no medicine which can cure COVID 100 per cent. So, there is only one alternative, that is wearing a mask, maintaining physical distance even after taking vaccine along with other measures,” said Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, advisor to Chief Minister.

He was speaking an online interaction programme organised by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) on Saturday.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole presided while Pro-VC Dr Shyam Shirsath, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi were also present.

Dr Deepak Mhaisekar said that pandemic virus caused havoc across the world and health system in developed countries like Italy, England was paralysed.

“Till today, there is no medicine which can cure the virus 100 per cent. There are vaccines like Covisheild. ‘Remdesivir and other drugs are being given to patients if required. However, taking care is the only option,” he asserted.

He said that one should be careful about false information being given on social media and verify it from the State or Central Governments portals.

Sanjay Shinde conducted the proceedings. Management Council member Dr Rajesh Karpe, Dr Fulchand Salampur, Dr Sachin Deshmukh, and others were present.VC Dr Yeole also spoke.
