Aurangabad, Jan 6:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University decided to charge a processing fee to accept teacher''s promotion proposal under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS).

As per the Government directives, the university should conduct CAS camp regularly so that teachers should not deprive promotion benefits for a long time.

But, the organising a camp is very typical and expensive. The university issued orders recently stating that Rs 3,000 would be charged for each proposal of teachers.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole under his special powers 12 (7) and (8) issued orders for levying administrative charges for each promotion proposal. The university set up a committee for the camp. It comprises vice-chancellors nominee, Government representative and subject expert.

Besides travel and other allowances, the VC and Government representative will be paid Rs 2000 each. The regulation would be tabled before the Academic Council and Management Council members meeting for the approval.
