Aurangabad, Jan 21:

District and Sessions Court judge S K Kulkarni remanded a rape accused in police custody up to January 23.

The accused has been identified as Gajanan Kailas Puri (37, Phulambri). The victim was married in 2013 and had two children.

In a complaint lodged by the victim, stated that she was alone at home on January 16. The accused Gajanan Puri entered her house at 10 pm and raped her. When her husband returned home at 11.30 pm, she told him the whole incident. A case was registered with Pishor Police Station.

After the arrest, the accused was produced in the court. Assistant public prosecutor Madhukar Aher requested the court to give police custody to the accused as the crime is serious and his medical examination is necessary.
