Aurangabad, Sept 28 :
Aiming at providing relief to the vehicle-owners and minimise their suffering while negotiating with the potholes, especially during the monsoon, a demonstration on filling potholes through polymer-based technology, near district collectorate, was conducted in the presence of public representatives and the civic officials today.

Rajya Sabha MP Bhagwat Karad, MLA Atul Save, MLC Ambadas Danve and municipal commissioner A K Pandey were present on occasion along with Pune-based company''s officials.

The company personnel filled the potholes with polymer-based material which acts as a binder and remains unaffected during monsoon. It does not flow with water while filling potholes during rainfall. Moreover, it neither sticks to the vehicle tyres nor the footwears of a pedestrian. The best part is that the material does not obstruct the vehicle passing through the pothole as it gets solid form within less time. " If the experiment yields success, then the polymer technology will be used to fill up potholes existing in different parts of the city. The company also guarantees that the material will bond perfectly with the pothole for at least two years," said the AMC administrator.
