Revenue department remains on top in corruption even in Corona pandemic

The
entire world is facing the Corona crisis but the government employees are
engaged in the grabbing money through corruption. The revenue department in the
four districts in the Aurangabad circles remains on the top of the corruption
list even during the Corona pandemic, informed the Anti Corruption Bureau
(ACB).
The health, police and
all the government departments gave stern fight against the Corona pandemic for
the past 15 months. The corrupt employees, however, were engaged in grabbing
the money from the people. The ACB laid 61 traps in the four district of the
Aurangabad circle including Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed and Osmanabad and arrested
the corrupt officers. Of which, maximum 13 were from revenue department, 12
from the police department, 7 from the Maharashtra State Electricity
Distribution Company Ltd, 4 agriculture department while 3 from the education
department.
The ACB executed action against 16 government officers in the Aurangabad city
and 13 in the rural areas between the period of January 1, 2021 to May 21.
After Aurangabad, the maximum 13 traps were laid in Osmanabad district.
Similarly, 130 traps
were successfully executed in 2017, 119 in 2018, 124 in 2019 and 84 in 2020.
Superintendent of
police, ACB, Dr Rahul Khade said, the officers after receiving the complaint of
bribery conducted the investigation initially in the presence of two panchas.
All the confidentiality is maintained. Hence, if any government officer is
asking for bribe, people should directly lodge complaints with ACB, he said.
