Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “The annual income of the Maharashtra State Board Wakfs (MSBW) has doubled this year. There was revenue of Rs 5 crores every year. This year, a revenue of Rs 10 crores has been received in the treasury,” said Sameer Kazi, MSBW chairman.
He recently met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and informed him about the functioning of the Board. There has been a radical change in the functioning of the Waqf Board during the last two to two and a half years.
Offices have been opened in every district. The common man no longer needs to visit the headquarters at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, due to this. Extensive manpower recruited on a permanent and contractual basis.
Earlier, there was only one Chief Executive Officer (CEO) working for the whole State. There will be six departments under the CEO in future. Just like the revenue department, there will be six departments for Waqf.
There is one office for Nagpur-Amravati and two more divisional offices will be set up in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nanded, as there are more Waqf offices in Marathwada. Kazi mentioned that four posts of Deputy CEOs were fixed. A proposal for ten posts of departmental officers and four Deputy CEOs was sent to the government.
