Aurangabad, April 16:

Rs 8.5 lakh government funds were embezzled at the Samrat Ashok School at Pandharpur. A case against the director, retired head master and secretary has been registered at the Waluj MIDC Police Station on Friday for cheating the government.

According to the details, Sant Kabir Manavta Sangopan Kendra runs Samrat Ashok Vidyalaya secondary School in Pandharpur – Waladgaon area. The then head master Baban Eknath Chavan, director Madhukar Shankarrao Bhole and secretary Madhavrao Kashinath Sable embezzled government funds received to the school during the period 2015-16 and 2017-18. The joint secretary of the institute Raghunath Dande (Garkheda area) lodged a complaint at the ZP Education department on August 20, 2018. The department conducted an inquiry and found at Rs 8,45,506 have embezzled by these three people. The funds received for building rent and maintenance were embezzled was mentioned in the report. A petition was filed in this regard in the High Court. During the hearing on April 7, 2021, the bench ordered to registered cases against the director, head master and secretary.

Accordingly, ZP education extension officer Jalam Chaure lodged a complaint at the Waluj MIDC police station on Friday. In the complaint, Bhole is not the chairman of the institute but posing as the chairman he along with two others embezzled huge amount. PSI Prashant Gambhirrao under the guidance of PI Madhukar Sawant is further investigating the case.
