For the third day in a row, the city experienced heavy showers of rain. The whole city was shaken by the noise of the rumbling of thunder and the sound of lightning. The sound was such that the doors and windows of the buildings in the cantonment area were shaken.

The intensity of rain was higher in Chawni, Karnapura, Nandanvan Colony, Bhavsinghpura and Begumpura areas. Residents said that the rains accompanied by the rumbling of thunder and sound of lightning made the house tremble. The noise was so loud that the people standing on the road panicked and ran for shelter. The sound of the lightning kept echoing for about 45 seconds.

The intensity of the rain was slightly less in the old city, Cidco, Hudco, Jawahar Colony and Shivajinagar area. It rained for half an hour in the afternoon in several areas, but the intensity of the rain in the cantonment was higher than in the old city. There was cloud cover and fog throughout the day.

Heavy rain in the evening

The rain had stopped after 3 pm on Sunday. However, it started raining again from 6.30 pm. The rain turned heavy after 7 pm. Roads were flooded in many parts of the city. The road from Motikaranja to Fakirwadi was filled with water.

Water also accumulated in several parts of the city. The road from Dudh Dairy Chowk to Kalda Corner was also flooded. The road in front of S B College, Surana building, Aurangpura also went underwater.
