Aurangabad, Oct 14:

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has advised all banks to take precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Accordingly, bank employees are taking precautions and also following social distancing in banks. Despite the fact that banks have been instructed to sanitize ATMs regularly, no banks and private agencies do not appear to comply with these instructions.

A large number of customers come in to withdraw money at ATMs. Banks have been advised to clean the ATMs every two-three hours so that they can stop the spread of the virus, however, banks do not appear to comply with these instructions. Many ATMs are managed by private agencies who pay no attention towards cleaning the ATMs. There are around 350 ATMs in the city, and are more susceptible to spread infection. With AC in place to maintain temperature of the machine, the virus can stay here longer. Taking this into consideration, the RBI has instructed banks to clean the ATM with sanitizers every two hours. However, it has been neglected by contractors and banks. If a corona infected patient goes to an ATM, there is a high possibility of its spread everywhere.
