Sena should test its capability by contesting AMC election on its own strength: BJP

Aurangabad, June 19:

The local BJP leaders today claimed that it is capable of defeating Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) election. It would be least affected if the Shiv Sena-NCP alliance joined hands with AIMIM also. We are hopeful of winning more than 60 seats, they stressed.

The leaders of MVA allies Sena and NCP had hinted at contesting the municipal corporation election unitedly, but the Congress has expressed of contesting the AMC election on its own strength. On Saturday, the MLC Ambadas Danve had claimed of getting elected 70 seats of MVA. Hence the local BJP leaders left no opportunity to criticise Sena. The BJP leaders said, " We were in alliance with them (Sena) in AMC for the past 30 years. In five years, the power was in hands of the BJP for one or two years, and for the remaining years, it was in hands of Sena leaders only. If MVA join hands with AIMIM and other small parties in the AMC election, it would not affect us. There is a need for 56 seats to prove the majority. Hence our task is dubbed Mission 60. After remaining in power for 30 long years also Sena thinks bad about us. Sena should test its capability by contesting the civic election independently on its own strength."

The leaders underlined that the citizens are wise enough to understand who has done the development of the city in the last five years. The schemes like water supply scheme of Rs 1680 crore, a huge fund for roads in phases (Rs 24 crore, Rs 100 cr and then Rs 152 cr), the fund for Smart City projects, etc.

Former standing committee chairman Raju Shinde said, " BJP is ready with the plan to contest the AMC election in the future and is just waiting for the announcement. BJP will contest the election with its full capacity. We will be approaching the people on the basis of development works done by us. Getting majority is not a hard task."

Meanwhile, the BJP's MP Dr. Bhagwat Karad said," BJP will win the maximum number of seats in the AMC election. Our aim is to achieve Mission 60. We have started the preparation in each ward. The voters will extend their blessings to us so as to undertake more development works in the future. The election agenda will comprise Hindutva, Security, and Development. BJP will hoist saffron flag on AMC headquarter at any cost."
