Sillod land dispute: No action yet

Lieutenant Colonel Pratap Das, Battery Commander of the Indian Air Force has submitted a memorandum to District Collector Dilip Swami, demanding an inquiry into a plot of an educational institution in Sillod. In January, he had already requested an investigation through a letter to the then District Collector. Since no action has been taken, Das sent another letter on Thursday.

The plot was purchased by Apparao Gorade, father of soldier Yogesh Gorade, in 2008. He bought plot number 85, measuring 125.26 square meters, in Survey Number 92 in Sillod with a registered document. Last year, land leveling was done for a festival across Survey Numbers 90, 91, and 92. However, temporary structures like a compound and shed were not removed. Three months later, construction began for a hospital and medical college, which includes Gorade’s plot. Soldier Gorade raised this issue through a complaint in January. District Collector Swami said he had not received any letter on the matter yet but would comment once it is received.
