Aurangabad, April 5:

The Aurangabad division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is gearing up for the HSC and SSC theory examinations.

The State Board has started to merge centres of both examinations in the division.

The reason is that some of the schools and junior colleges have expressed an inability to hold the examinations over lack of sitting arrangements and other facilities.

There will be centres and sub-centres after the merger.

The centres will take care of sub-centres about the examination planning.

The education department is planning for sub-centre chiefs and tehsil level custodians.

The divisional secretary of MSBSHSE Sugata Punne said that they were planning question papers and answering books distribution and collection.

HSC aspirants will take their examinations from April 23 in COVID situation.

The COVID safety guidelines issued by the Board were sent to centre chiefs in written form.

Sugata Punne said that an online meeting of the centre chiefs would be organised to give them instructions about the safety measures as the actual meeting cannot be held in the current situation.

She said that one student would sit on per bench and the examinations would be carried out as per the schedule.

“Some schools have two or three admissions while others do not have required sitting arrangement for the examinations. It will not be feasible to hold examinations in such schools. The sub-centre will be started for 50 students in rural areas and for 100 students in the city.

The centres will distribute and collect answer books and question papers,” she added.

Education officer Dr B B Chavan said that centres were not finalised yet.

There will be 662 possible centres for SSC and 572 for HSC. The division has 65,011 aspirants of SSC and 55,117 candidates of HSC.
