Aurangabad, Jan 18:

The state Director of Town Planning (DTP) Sudhakar Nangnure today clarified that the state government would be taking the final decision in connection with the alleged TDR scam. Earlier, the state government had procured 211 files after the TDR scam was unearthed in the city and raised in the legislative assembly. Meanwhile, the files are catching dust in the ministry concerned for the past four years for appropriate action.

Nangnure was in the city to attend a workshop for builders and professionals of the construction industry today. When the journalists asked him about the TDR scam, he avoided commenting on it. When the question was repeated to him, then he said, " I cannot comment on the issue as the state government will take its final call."

The legislative assembly had witnessed heated arguments over the discussion on TDR scam. In reply to the query, the minister of state (MoS) for urban development (UD) announced conducting a high-level inquiry. Later on, a committee headed by the Joint Director (Town Planning) conducted the inquiry and submitted its report to the government and the action upon it is awaited. On the other hand, the state government refrained the Town Planning section from the loading of TDR in all cases. As a result, the building professionals are trying hard to seek permission from the government to at least allow them to load TDR in fresh cases, but no decision has been taken in this regard.
