Aurangabad, Jan 15:

Consistent changes in the tax laws, unstable GST, errors in the GSTN website, the central government's negligence in making timely changes have irked the tax practitioners. Hence for the first time in the country, all tax practitioners under the banner of The Western Maharashtra Tax Practitioners Association (WMTPA) will hold demonstrations on January 29 in front of Central GST and State GST offices and Income Tax offices across the country. WMTPA is sending a letter to tax consultant associations, various trade organisations and industry associations across the country to join the agitation.

The growing response of organizations

We wrote to the finance minister and the central government several times regarding the oppressive tax laws. But they were ignored our demand. The agitation is getting a response from chartered accountants, certified management accountant lawyers, various professional associations and other organizations across the country said, CA Swapnil Munot, chief coordinator, all India protest committee.

More trouble for small taxpayers

The oppressive tax laws are bothering the small taxpayers the most. Constant changes in tax laws are creating instability and confusion said, CA Umesh Sharma.

Reasons to agitate

-Rigid approach of government against professionals and trade

-Unstable GST, denial of input tax credit, no revision of GST return allowed,

-Excessive power to authorities for cancellation of registration and blocking of ITC, causing big harassment

-Failed GST Portal, having numerous issues

-Income tax utilities not made available on time and changed frequently and extension of CFSS
