Aurangabad, Jan 16:

The environment minister Aditya Thackeray today informed the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator, district collector and police commissioner (CP) to sit together and unitedly prepare a road map for the development of the city. There will never be a shortage of fund to any project, assured the minister.

He was speaking at a function organised at the TV Centre to inaugurate and dedicate the shopping complex developed by AMC on built-operate and transfer (BoT) basis and the stadium, for the citizens.

Chikalthana Garbage Plant

To get rid of the dry garbage generated daily, the AMC had started processing plants at Chikalthana and Padegaon, while the processing plant at Kanchwandi specialises in converting the wet garbage into methane gas which would further help in generating electricity. The garbage menace would be a thing of past in the coming six months as the city would be free from the waste. The planful efforts to develop the city were taken for the past 3-4 years, and its results are reported now. Thackeray dedicated the garbage processing plant at Chikalthana to the public in the afternoon.

He also applauded the AMC administrator A K Pandey for preparing micro-plan to develop the city. The cabinet had also praised him for his noteworthy contribution in undertaking necessary measures, on behalf of the AMC, during the Covid-19 pandemic in the city. The minister also praised the AMC administration and the citizens.

Corona Warriors

The environment minister also feted the AMC officers as Corona Warriors by presenting appreciation certificates for their outstanding contributions during the city's pandemic situation. The city engineer S D Panzade, executive engineer Hemant Kolhe, the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar, deputy commissioner Aparna Thete, assistant commissioner (Solid Waste Management) Nandkishore Bhombe, garden superintendent Vijay Patil, ASCDCL's deputy chief executive officer Pushkal Shivam, in-charge of Meltron Covid Care Hospital Dr Vaishali Mudgadkar, contractor Nisar Khan and Bhati were feted on occasion.

Bicycle track

The young Thackeray also dedicated to public the bicycle track built from Kranti Chowk to Gopal T Centre, today. The EGS minister Sandeepan Bhumre, minister of state (MoS) Abdul Sattar, MP Syed Imtiaz Jaleel, MLC Ambadas Danve, MLA Sanjay Shirsaat, MLA Pradeep Jaiswal, former MP Chandrakant Khaire, former mayor Nandkumar Ghodele and former deputy mayor Rajendra Janjal were present on occasion.
