Thieves run riot in Karmad police jurisdiction
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
A wave of fear has gripped villages under the Karmad police jurisdiction due to a rise in thefts. Recently, burglars have stolen gold, cash, and two-wheelers, but the Karmad police have made no progress in their investigations.
Thieves broke into Bhaginath Shinde’s house in Dudhad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tehsil) and stole valuables worth lakhs, including cash on Saturday. Shinde was working the night shift, and his family members were sleeping on the terrace between 3 am and 4 am when the burglary occurred. In another incident, a car (MH-20-CS-2138) was stolen from the front of Rameshwar Gonde’s house in Bhambarda on Saturday night. Karmad police visited the scene after the theft was reported. The rising thefts have caused panic among residents, especially along the Karmad and Ladsawangi road. Multiple housebreaking incidents have been reported in Dudhad, Bhambarda, Karmad, Golatgaon, Gadhe Jalgaon, Murumkheda, and Jaipur villages. Villagers are demanding increased night patrolling by the Karmad police.
