Traders demand lifting constraints on markets

Aurangabad, July 16:

The government has imposed time constraints on the city markets to curb the corona cases and the new Delta Plus variant. This has had an impact on the trade and business sector which has been severely affected from the past one year and a half. Restrictions are being imposed repeatedly, giving severe financial blow to the traders. Therefore, the Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh has demanded that the government end restrictions and open all markets as the number of covid cases is declining in the city and district.

The Mahasangh said, constant lockdowns and time constraints have worsened the financial situation of traders, their employees and their families who depend on the trading sector. Markets have been opened in other states and some cities in Maharashtra. However, restrictions have been imposed in the city and district. Meanwhile, the cases have been declining in city limits and are now in single digits. Keeping markets closed from 4 pm and completely closed on weekends has pushed the traders in severe debt. Hence the government should take immediate positive decision and not push the trading community to its limits. The unnecessary restraints are giving a wrong message in the trading community. Government and administration during the Corona epidemic. The traders have demanded waivers in electricity bills, property tax and financial packages from the government to help them bail out this crisis. The mahasangh has also warned of severe agitation if the government does not take a positive decision.
