Truck driver held with sword in Waluj MIDC area

Aurangabad, Jan 12:

The Waluj MIDC police have arrested an outstation truck driver and seized a sword from his possession on Monday at 9 am. The driver Mohammed Rafiq Khan (27, resident of Mustafabad, district Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh) had displayed the weapon and then kept it in the vehicle's cabin.

According to details, The factory workers learnt about possession of a sharp-edged weapon by the driver. As a result, a team of workers Sanjay Debaji, Faiyyaz Shah, Sachin Shinde and Amol Amle held him and then intimated the police. The police patrolling during the night hours reached the spot and detained the driver. On inquiry, the driver took out the sword that was kept in his truck's cabin and handed it over to the police. The size of the sharp-edged weapon is 23 inches long and more than three-inch wide. Waluj MIDC police have registered an offence against the driver for violating the prohibitory order of possessing weapons. Further investigation is on.
